Details of activities undertaken during the week starting from 12 May /02 are as follows :

1) HOLDING OF GRAM SABHA:
Total 465 No.s (93X5=465 No.s) Gram Sabha meeting were convened in the district w.e.f. 12 to 16 May /02. Block wise Gram Sabha meeting held as follows :

All the Agenda items as framed by the Govt. were covered in each G.S. meeting . Some of the common agenda which were included in the G.S. meeting are as follows:

    1) Hon'ble C.M.'s address was read out in each G.S. meeting.
    2) Achievement of the Present Govt. was also discussed in each G.S.
    3) Health and hygiene camping was conducted in each Gram Sabha. For this purpose copies of leaflets were circulated      highlighting various health care measures/facilities available under health department .
    4) Further a booklet on the development /social welfare schemes was printed and circulated in the G.S. meeting.
    5) The public petitions readdressed out of the first and second round RPRS were also appraised in the meeting.

2) BLOCK LEVEL CONVENTIONS:
    Block level conventions were organized in all the 7( seven) block H.Qtr. of the district on 17th and 18th May /2002 with the following activities .

On 17th May 2002

    i) Interaction held between the members of Self Help Groups and Bank officials on the issue of credit linkage to Self  Help Groups.
    ii) Loan Sanctioned orders under SGSY were handed over to beneficiaries by the concerned Bank .
    iii) For capacity buiilding of FMCs that the District Agricultural Officer organised a training programme in each Block (Achievement shown seperately )

On 18th May 2002

    i) Discussion held on the presentr status of various Rural Development schemes being implemented by the construction           committees .
    ii) P.S. level citizens committee meeting were also held in different Block H.Qtrs.
    ii) There was a motivitional session on DPEP , Saba Sikha Achani, TLC and other related programme , where the officers of Education deptt , Leading Citizen and members of SHG, NGO, and clubs etc. took part in the discussion .

3) ANIMAL HEALTH CAMP :
    With a view to render veterinary service to the villagers of remote areas 8 (Eight ) No.s Veterinary Camps were organised in the district during the Santi Sampriti & Samridhi week.

4) OBSERVANCE OF PLANTATION DAY :
    The 16th May/2002 was observed as plantation day in the District . Activities taken up on the Plantaion Day are as follows --

5) CAPACITY BUILDING OF FMC
    For capacity building of FMC the agriculture department Organized training in all the Dev. Blocks on 17th &18th May /02 the total participants of the training was 315 No.s

6) HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP
In addition to the health & hygiene campaign in each GP 30 Thirty no.s Health check up camp were organized w.e.f. 12 to 16 May /02 in the district with a view cover the deficit areas under the Health Sector. Details of activities of each camp are shown below.

DISTRICT LEVEL CONVENTION
    The concluding ceremony of the Santi-Sampriti and Samridhi week was observed by organising a Dist. Level convention of SHGs on 19/5/02 at the Bir-Chilarai Indoor Stadium Bongaigaon.

    General Manager , NABARD , Chairman , PG Bank , Director , State Resource Centre , Senior Executive of NEDFI and some other prominent citizens addressed the convention.

    About 2000 participants mainly from the SHG members of TLC , DPEP , DRDA , Educationists , Social Workers leading citizens , Panchayat-Members , NGO , Govt. and Non-Govt. officials attended the convention.

    The Chairman PG Bank , Assam handed over sanction order and cheques of PG Bank ceremonially to eight(8) Self Help Groups (formed under the banner of PROCHESTA) in the convention.

    The convention ended with an adoption of a resolution to work for peace , integrity and prosperity of the country.
